How to Connect Make to Your CRM and Business Tools

Make’s extensive app library and flexible API connection tools allow you to connect virtually any tool in your business tech stack. Building a well-integrated Make environment creates an automation layer that keeps data synchronized across your systems and executes cross-tool workflows automatically whenever relevant events occur.

Connecting to HubSpot

Make’s native HubSpot modules support reading and writing contacts, companies, deals, tickets, and custom objects. Use HubSpot trigger modules to fire scenarios when CRM records are created or updated — new contact created, deal stage changed, ticket escalated. Use HubSpot action modules to create and update CRM records from data arriving from external systems. Connect Make to HubSpot using a HubSpot private app API token configured in Make’s Connections section.

Connecting to Communication Tools

Make’s Slack modules allow you to send messages to channels and users, post formatted notifications with rich context, and receive Slack event triggers. Build scenarios that post deal alerts, project updates, and operational notifications to the right Slack channels automatically based on CRM and project management events. This integration keeps your team informed in real time without requiring anyone to monitor multiple systems simultaneously.

Using the HTTP Module for Custom Integrations

For tools without native Make modules, the HTTP module allows you to make API calls to any REST or GraphQL endpoint. This module supports all standard authentication methods and allows you to send and receive any data format. Combined with Make’s JSON parsing and data transformation tools, the HTTP module enables integration with virtually any tool in your tech stack regardless of whether Make has a pre-built module for it.

Managing Connections and Credentials

Store all API credentials and OAuth connections in Make’s Connections section rather than hardcoding them in scenario configurations. This allows credentials to be reused across multiple scenarios and updated in one place when credentials change. Audit your connections regularly to remove unused credentials and ensure that active connections are associated with the correct accounts. Document your integration architecture in Notion with a complete list of connected tools and the scenarios that use each connection.
